Why trust a guy on the internet about Phuket?
I write this from Phuket, where I live — not an office in another country.

Fair question. The internet is full of Phuket guides written by people who spent five days here on holiday, or never came at all. Mine is different for a boring, verifiable reason: I live here. I pay Thai prices in baht every week — rent, the wet market, the Grab to the airport, the tour boat — so the numbers in these guides are ones I’ve actually paid or checked in person, and dated so you know how fresh they are.
That’s the whole point of this site. Not Instagram filler — current, honest, specificanswers, with real photos only when they prove a price or a place. If I haven’t verified a number or lived a claim, it does not go up.
What you’ll get straight answers on
- →Which beach base fits you — Patong, Kata, Karon or Old Town?
- →Grab, metered taxi or a scooter — what actually costs less?
- →Which eSIM actually works the moment you land?
- →Dry season or green season — when should you come?
- →What does a real month of living in Phuket actually cost?
My rules
- ✓I only recommend what I’d tell a friend. If something is a trap, I say skip it — even when there’s an affiliate link on it.
- ✓Prices are dated and verified. If it says “checked Jul 2026,” I checked it in July 2026. No placeholder numbers on the live site.
- ✓No fake reviews.I never pretend to have tested a hotel, tour or product I haven’t. Rankings and comparisons wait until I have real local knowledge to stand on.
- ✓One author, and I own it.Every guide here is written by me under the same byline — not a rotating content team. If I’m wrong, that’s on me, and I’ll fix it.
How this site makes money
Affiliate links. When you book a stay (Agoda), a tour or transfer (Klook), an eSIM (Airalo) or gear (Amazon) through a link here, the company pays me a small commission. You pay the exact same price — the commission comes out of their end, not yours.
Which links exist never changes what I recommend or the order I rank things. If the best option has no affiliate program, I still tell you to use it — I just don’t earn anything. No ads, no sponsored “best of” spots, no paid placements. It’s how I can spend the time keeping prices current instead of chasing clients.
