Who runs this site

phuketlifelog (https://phuketlifelog.com) is written and operated by Kai Nakamura, a pen name. It is a personal site, not a company. Questions about anything on this page go to hello@phuketlifelog.com.

What is collected

Two things, and that is the whole list.

• Google Analytics 4.Pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, what kind of device and browser you use, and which site or search sent you. Google sets cookies to do this. It is used for one purpose: seeing which guides get read so I know what to write next. Google's own handling of that data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
• Standard server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which records ordinary request information such as IP address and timestamps in order to serve pages and keep the site up.

What is not collected

There is no email list, no signup, no account, no comment section, no contact form, and no advertising network on this site. Nothing here asks you to type anything in. If you email me, I have your email — because you sent it — and I do not add it to anything.

Affiliate links

Some links to booking sites, insurers and eSIM providers are affiliate links — currently Agoda, Klook, Airalo, Amazon and SafetyWing. If you book or buy through one, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and are disclosed in the footer of every page.

Following one takes you to that company's site, which will set its own cookies to credit the referral. That happens on their side, under their privacy policy, not mine. I do not receive your booking details, your payment information, or your name.

Commission never decides what gets recommended. Guides here tell you to skip things that carry affiliate links, and that is deliberate — the honest verdict comes before the money.

Cookies, and how to turn them off

The only cookies this site sets itself are the analytics ones described above, plus a small local preference that remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. That preference stays in your own browser and is never sent anywhere.

You can stop the analytics cookies in any of these ways:

• Install Google's official opt-out add-on.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Use a browser or extension that blocks trackers — many do this by default.

Blocking any of it does not change how the site works for you.

Your data

Analytics data is held by Google under their retention settings, not by me — I see aggregate reports rather than a database of visitors, and there is no account or mailing list here to remove you from. If you want your analytics data deleted, that request goes to Google, whose controls are linked above. If you have emailed me and want that email deleted, write to hello@phuketlifelog.com and I will delete it.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If what the site collects ever changes — an email list, an ad network, a comment box — this page changes with it, and the date below moves. There is no version of this site where that happens quietly.
